TALEMARK ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION

You can delete your Talemark account and the personal data associated with your account at any time. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

1. Deleting the account from within the application

If you can access your Talemark account, the fastest method is the account deletion feature within the application:

Settings → Profile → Account → Delete Account

When you confirm the operation, the account deletion process is initiated. This operation does not temporarily deactivate the account; it permanently deletes your Talemark account and the associated data.

2. If you cannot access the application

If you have uninstalled the application, cannot sign in to your account or cannot access the deletion feature within the application, you can send an account deletion request to the following address from your registered email address:

Information that must be included in the email

• Your Talemark username
• The email address registered to your account
• The statement "I want my Talemark account and the personal data associated with my account to be permanently deleted."
• A short explanation if you can no longer access your account

Send your request, if possible, from the email address registered and verified in your Talemark account. If you signed in with Google, use the Google email address linked to your Talemark account.

In order to protect the accounts of other persons, we may request reasonable additional information to verify account ownership. We do not request identity information or copies of identity documents beyond what is necessary.

Once account ownership is verified, your request is concluded as soon as possible and, under applicable legislation, within 30 days at the latest.

3. Which data is deleted when the account is deleted?

Within the scope of the account deletion operation, the following data is deleted from Talemark's active systems:

• Your Talemark profile
• Your email and authentication account
• Your username, biography and social links
• Your profile photo and profile banner
• Your film and book journals
• Your ratings and log dates
• Your reviews and replies
• Your lists and list items
• Your list comments
• Your book quotes
• Your favorites and likes
• Your follow and follower relationships
• Your reading progress and reading goals
• Your agenda and personal notes
• Your blocking relationships
• Your notification device records and FCM tokens
• The avatar, profile banner and list covers you uploaded to Talemark storage

Once the deletion operation is completed, you cannot sign in again with your account and you cannot recover the deleted content.

4. Records that may remain for a limited period

The following limited data may be held for a certain period after the account deletion operation:

• Data in security backups created before the deletion operation, until the backup cycle of a maximum of 30 days is completed
• Limited compliance records proving that the deletion operation has been carried out
• Records that must be retained by law
• Limited records necessary for an ongoing security investigation, report or legal dispute
• Firebase Analytics events that are not directly matched with your Talemark account ID, until the configured retention period expires
• Sentry error and diagnostic records, ordinarily no more than 30 days
• Resend email delivery records, ordinarily 30 days

Data in security backups is not used for the ordinary provision of the service, for reconstructing the account or for marketing purposes, and is deleted or overwritten at the end of the backup cycle.

5. Copies outside Talemark's control

The content you share publicly may, before the deletion operation, have been:

• viewed,
• screenshotted,
• copied,
• shared on another platform,
• cached by a device or search engine

by other users.

Talemark cannot in every case delete independent copies outside its own systems. However, the source content in Talemark's active systems is removed within the scope of the account deletion operation.

6. What happens to your Google account?

If you signed in with Google, deleting your Talemark account:

• does not delete your Google account,
• does not affect your Gmail or other Google services,
• does not delete files or content in your Google account.

Only your Talemark account and the associated data held on Talemark are deleted. You can additionally remove Talemark's connection to your Google account from your Google account settings.

7. Deleting certain data without deleting the account

You can delete or edit certain content from within the application while keeping your account. For example:

• reviews and comments,
• journal entries,
• lists,
• quotes,
• favorites,
• profile images,
• biography and social links.

For a specific piece of personal data that you cannot delete from within the application, you can contact privacy@talemark.app. Your request is evaluated taking into account applicable legislation and the rights of other users.

8. Important warnings

• Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
• Deleting the account is not the same as merely uninstalling the application from the device.
• Uninstalling the application does not automatically delete your Talemark account or your data.
• An account deletion request is not a temporary account freeze or deactivation operation.
• Talemark is free of charge; there is no subscription or in-app purchase that needs to be canceled.
• Continuing to use a permanently closed account with a new account in order to circumvent a sanction may violate the Terms of Use.
